Am I tempting fate by making fun of God just minutes before the game?  We need this win, we need all the wins.   Well, most of them anyway, in order to win the ACC.  All four are league games.  That #2 ranking is fun, but it’s also a great big bullseye.  I was much happier with a 3 or 4.  That way there wasn’t all this wonky national title talk.  That’s shit is just nonsense.  Kind of like the Heisman.  No way you can think about those things until after the season.  Or until you’re in the big BCS bowl.  And really, unless we stay #2, and go undefeated, there’s absolutely zero chance of that happening.  The prom committee that decides these things would give it to LSU in a heartbeat unless we win out and they can’t.  It’s almost time.  Whooohooo! Go Eagles!

I took this with my phone camera tonight when i walked down to the beach.  The camera is not great and doesn’t nearly do it justice.  It was even more spectacular last night, and i was a little bitter about having to work late and only seeing it from the car sitting in traffic.  But tonight was beautiful.  The rain cleared and it was windy and cold.  And looking at that blazing majestic sky, I just had to wonder how anybody in their right mind can deny that God exists and created this wonderful world for us to enjoy.

OK.  So, BC is ranked #4 in the nation right now at 6-0.   Next Saturday it’s Notre Dame time.  7-0 is in sight.  Yeah.  I’m calm though.  I’m not freaking out or anything.  !!!! WOOOOOO!

heh.  It’s a good year.  However it ends, they’ve already made up for the terrible disappointment of last year.  Course even that could be outdone with a heartbreaking loss in the Orange Bowl.  HAHAHA, a loss at the Orange Bowl?  Never!  We own that dump.

Another post about football, forgive me.

So, BC is ranked 14 going into this week, and going out of the week after beating Army and moving to 4-0, we’ll likely stay about the same.  How do we get no love whatsoever in the pre-season?  Never ranked in the top 25 going into a season, ever.  Yet when we win the first few games we shoot right up.  And what about this season?  The next games are against Umass, Bowling Green and Notre Dame.  There is a very good chance that we could be 7-0 going into a game with Virginia Tech.  Will we be a top 10 if we’re 7-0?  Top 5 if we take out VT?  If we win the ACC, and that is a huge looming if, a BCS bowl, Orange, is assured.  But if not, who knows, back to the freaking Meineke Car Care Bowl?  After last years traumatic hockey season, I’m still bracing myself for the worst.

There’s a new Wes Anderson movie in the works, apparently coming out in the very near future. Why the fuck was I not notified?? Anyway, I scored a sweet free mini poster for it tonight at the movies in orange. I’ll post a trailer or something if i can find one. It’s called The Darjeeling Limited.

I GOT THE JOB!

HOOOO! HOOOOOOO!

Yeah. I just found out, I will be back at IBM. And I say “back” because I worked for them for 3 weeks last January. Yeah that counts. The job is @ Diageo, the world’s bartender. A more plush workspace I can’t even imagine. The commute is decent, the compensation decent. And I’ll have health insurance so I can even start skating again. I knew good things would happen in September. What a beautiful time of year.

So, one month has passed, and week 4 was great.  Another 2 lbs!  And I can’t tell you how I am loving being able to eat cereal and fruit for breakfast.  It’s the best thing ever.  Still on the coffee and still not giving it up.  Oh well, inch by inch, life’s a cinch, yard by yard, pretty fuckin hard.  13 lbs for the month.  It’s nice.
